Gateways Reunion Dinner at ABRCMS
Gateways Alumni (clockwise starting at bottom left): Isaiah Swann (2017), Samuel Hernandez (2018), Ryan Nguyen (2025), Adela Song (2025), Isabella Karabinas (2018, current Tri-I MD-PhD student), Noor Ul Ain (2022), Myla Hudson (2024), Alicia Mercado (2020), Molly Monge (2020, current Tri-I MD-PhD student), and Tri-I Program Manager, Eileen Torres.

This November, the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program was represented at ABRCMS, the American Society for Microbiology's (ASM) conference for multidisciplinary science and workforce development. Tri-I Program Manager, Dr. Eileen Torres, and current students, Isabella Karabinas and Molly Monge, attended to share information about the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD and Gateways to the Laboratory Summer Program to attendees from around the country.

The growing community of Gateways was evident this year at ABRCMS: ten Gateways alumni from 2017 to 2025 were in attendance, participating either as representatives for their MD-PhD program or as undergraduate researchers presenting their work. Their presence highlighted the expanding Gateways community and its continued success in preparing students for careers in biomedical research.
