Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry
Dr Elena Lister is an adult and child psychiatrist and adult analyst on the faculty of Cornell and Columbia. She is the senior consulting analyst for grief at Columbia Psychoanalytic Center. She teaches medical students and residents about helping people cope with severe illness, dying and grief. She also teaches analytic case writing. She is consulted nationally when there is a death in a school community and also works individually with people who are ill or grieving. Dr. Lister is the author of 2 books about facing illness and loss: “Giving Hope: Conversations with Children About Illness, Death and Loss” and “I Will Remember You: A Guidebook Through Grief for Teens.”
