Ezra Gabbay M.D.

Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine

Ezra Gabbay, MD, is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. A hospitalist, nephrologist and Senior Clinical Ethicist, he also serves as chairman of the NYP-LMH Ethics Committee.  Dr. Gabbay graduated from the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel and completed internal medicine residency at the Hadassah Hospital  and nephrology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center.  

His academic interests include the influence of religious and cultural values on medical care, ethics in the practice of hospital medicine and ethical issues in dialysis treatment. Dr. Gabbay is Associate Editor of the Journal of Religion and Health.  He is the recipient of the Professor Liepman Heilperin Award (2006), the Weill Cornell Award for Excellence in Medical Education (2022) and the House-Staff teaching Award (2023)
