Dr. Hannah Wunsch is a distinguished professor and vice chair for research in the Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is the author of the recent book, “The Autumn Ghost: How the Battle Against a Polio Epidemic Revolutionized Modern Medical Care.” Dr. Wunsch trained in anesthesiology and critical care medicine at Columbia University and holds a master’s in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She held a Canada Research Chair (2020-24) and her research is funded by the NIH and U.S. Department of Defense. Her work is on the organization of ICUs, pharmaco-epidemiology, and management of critically ill patients using large databases.
