Fellowships and Awards

Tri-I MD-PhD students have been extremely successful in obtaining external funding for their research. Beyond the awards themselves, the process of applying for external grants is a useful part of students’ professional training and is actively encouraged and supported by the program faculty.

Currently, over 30 students in the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program and at least 50% of each eligible incoming class have an active NRSA pre-doctoral training grant (F30) from the one the NIH institutes.

Additionally, Tri-I MD-PhD students have been awarded funding from the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New AmericansAmerican Society for Hematology, and the American Heart Foundation.
