In 1868, at the official dedication of Cornell University, Ezra Cornell stated, "I would found an institution where any person can find instruction in any study." The Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program, together Weill Cornell Medicine, The Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, works to promote an educational community where everyone feels welcome, included, and valued.

MD-PhD Houses
The MD-PhD Houses were founded in 2019 with the goal of vertical integration among classes. Each MD-PhD student is randomly assigned to one of five Houses. Each House organizes social activities and provides a form of informal mentorship.
Affinity Groups
Tri-I has three affinity groups to build community for all of our students: Tri-I AWSM, ADePT, and QUIPS.
Student Groups at WCM
Tri-I MD-PhD students participate in many of the other student groups at WCM involving community service, policy and advocacy, special interest and recreation, and academic interests.
